On the street!

Cocaine is a powerful stimulant and a popular recreational drug which produces annually on the street more than 100 Billion dollars. Since the “crack” cocaine was introduced on the market, the poorer people got access to it also, which made it widespread. During the last half century the use of cocaine was relatively constant, but starting with the new millennium, the things get worse.

Cocaine use became very common among all of socioeconomic strats. Individuals belonging to various groups of age, demographics, economic classes, social status, political affiliation, religious association, and livelihood had reporting that they or their circles are using cocaine.

Cocaine is a stimulant, extracted from the leaves of coca bush, a plant which grows in Bolivia, Peru and Colombia, in the Andes, at high altitude. It can be smoked, snorted, or injected. Cocaine looks like a white powder and on the street is known as “snow”, “blow”, “flake”, etc.

Cocaine processed with baking powder, (sodium bicarbonate), is known as “crack”, a smokeable version of cocaine with a shorter but more intense hit, around five minutes, and looks like a rock. It’s called “crack” after the sound it makes when you light it, and can quickly induce a psychological dependency.

The most usual, cocaine comes as a fine white powder like a salt, which is snorted in lines and rapidly absorbed through the nasal membranes. Many users also dab it on their teeth and gums. Cocaine has local anesthetic properties that numb the mucous membranes of the mouth, vagina, rectum, and eye, if directly applied. Novocaine, the local anesthetic commonly used by dentists, is a synthetic version of cocaine.

To get from the highlands of Colombia to your back pocket, cocaine has passed through many pairs of swarthy, unwashed pairs of hands, and is diluted down at each stage to increase profit. For that reason, the average gram of cocaine is usually between 20% and 65% actual cocaine. The rest is probably corn starch, vitamin C powder, sugar, talcum powder, baby milk powder or local anesthetic, to simulate the numbing effect.

Most of the cocaine addicts are reporting that they desperately want to quit the abuse but they are not capable. Worse, they frequently increase their doses to intensify and prolong the euphoric effects. We strongly recommend to everyone reading this article to stay out of cocaine’s use, however, if you or someone close to you have problems with cocaine addiction, we suggest you to visit Drug Rehabilitation programs in Canada.
